Convo
Jason was the kind of guy that could fit three different conversations into one short chat. He wasn’t easy to follow in that way. But over years of friendship with him, Gregory had grown used to it.
“Joe Canary is a demon!” Jason started as he met his friend for their school break time. “Did you hear about what happened in the Common Room yesterday?”
“No, wh-“
“Oh- what do you want to eat for lunch?”
“I dunno, not canteen food though.”
“Okay. We need to do some research for the group project, remember?”
“Yeah, we can use the Common Room computers.”
“Yeah- Oh yeah! Joe got in a fight with Mr Leary in the Common Room!”
“What? No way! I didn’t hear about that.”
“Do you want to go to Merry’s Chicken for lunch? We can get kebabs.”
“Yeah that sounds good.”
“Then we can bring them back to the Common Room and do our research over lunch.”
Gregory nodded. It was a good plan.
“Basically, Mr Leary caught Joe playing computer games on one of the Common Room computers so he tried to kick him out, but Joe got angry ‘cause there were loads of free computers, so it wasn’t like he was stopping someone from doing work-“
“Aah.”
“Yeah- and then they got in a bit of a fight when Mr Leary grabbed Joe’s arm. Joe slapped him!”
Gregory liked it when Jason speak to him. He always had a million things to say, but he never failed to his way around the verbal maze in his brain to say what needed to be said.
