Dear Corinth

Dear Corinth,

Sorry it’s been so long since my last letter. Our Northern outpost was overrun by the Dækin and we didn’t realise until it was too late. We lost twenty men. We already cleared the north sector as vermin free but the Dækin must have been hiding around the place waiting for our defences to weaken. They killed all of our administration staff once the enforcers left.

We were stretched thin spending weeks to track and exterminate the remaining Dækin. I believe we’ve gotten rid of over eighty percent of them now but it still isn’t safe here for our population. I get carried away. I know you don’t want to hear about all of that, my love.

It’s been 8 months now. Charlie must have started crawling. Do send me pictures of the two of you. He must have started growing hair now and I want to know whose colour he chose to take after! I’m betting your blonde.

Every day, when things get tough, I remind myself who I’m doing this for. You, him, us. We’ll be together again when this is all over. There aren’t much Dækin left. Soon, their whole planet will be ours as well.

I can’t wait to see you again. I love you so much. From this moon to the next.

Your husband,

Simon
